There are moments in life we want to have eternalized and put up on a wall of our home, so we can relive that day every time we walk by that photograph and feel all those emotions again. Whether it is a special occasion or just simply being alive, photography is one of the best ways to celebrate that moment in time. Kids grow, life changes often… documenting every year is such a great way to see how far we’ve come and how those little faces have changed way too fast.
We have two little traditions and I’m so glad I started them a few years back. Every year we take our family photos for Christmas cards and send them to our family and friends. I also LOVE receiving cards from clients, friends and family. I have a folder where I keep all of the cards I receive and every year when I get our new Christmas cards, I go through all of them from prior years and see how much the kids have grown, who is still in our lives and how much things have changed in just one short year. It is definitely my favorite holiday tradition! The second one is getting a coffee mug every Christmas with photos from our session. It’s amazing to see how much our daughter has grown every time we use one of them.
This is what photography is about. It tells a little bit of our story, it saves a moment forever, it decorates our homes with nothing but joy and happy memories. It makes it worth it investing that money every year. We only go through this life once and we should freeze special parts of it in a photograph, every chance we get.
